Erin Shanle

Erin Shanle graduated with a double major in Plant Biology and Chemistry. She is a 2007 recipient of a Goldwater Scholarship and received first place recognition in the 2007 SIUC Undergraduate Research Forum for her poster entitled, "Ent-kaurene and kauran-16-ol formation in the moss Physcomitrella patens: functional identification of a unique diterpene cyclase." In her position as an Undergraduate Research Assistant on the ATOL-Liverwort project, she conducted experiments to determine the effects of GA3 and AMO-1618 on germination of liverwort spores, for comparison with previous studies done on Physcomitrella and Ceratopteris.
